From our earliest days as a detective college, we have been committed to excellence in everything we teach. This commitment has helped us become one of the most respected legal education schools.
Our Story
Founded in 1994, as Discovery Detective Academy, we have a long history of providing exceptional adult education to students of all ages. 17 young - 82 years old.
Times and delivery methods of teaching have changed. In 1994 we had a brick-and-mortar school, used blackboards, had one computer for the instructor and one for the students, books, non-digital cameras, and our instructors taught live in a classroom on set schedules. If someone from out of the area attended, they had to temporarily move close to the school.
In 2002 we were one of the first schools to have a virtual component. We partnered with Adobe Connect, put cameras in the classroom and on the instructor, and had investigation students from around the country and globe attending along with our brick-and-mortar students. To make it more interactive we installed a large for the time 40-inch TV monitor so the students could interact with the online students.
Between 2004 -2012 we expanded into courses other than investigations and process service taught at our school, and online. We added certification courses for Liquor Law basic and managers for AZ DLCC, Security Guards and Armed Guards for DPS, NRA law enforcement courses, Food Safety managers for NRFSP and AZ Environmental Health, and Continuing Education for the legal fields through the AZ Supreme Court. Even though eclectic, they are all law-based courses. Of course, we still taught Investigations as our primary diploma course licensed through AZ Private Post-secondary Education.
In 2012 we became Discovery College since we were not just a detective college.
Fast forward to the pandemic. We adapted to teach primarily ONLINE VIRTUAL courses with live instructors. No in-classroom training.
In 2022 we started a hybrid teaching model that combines our new online on-demand courses, with a live instructor virtual class component. This way our students can learn at their own pace and still have the benefit of a live instructor.
The future looks bright for education. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Discovery has been approved by the Arizona Supreme Court to provide continuing education credits for Process Servers, Fiduciaries, Legal Document Preparers, and Confidential Intermediaries since 2009. We are also recognized and approved by most legal associations.
INVESTIGATIONS - Private Investigator & Public Investigator
Investigators in Arizona have no CE requirements, but it is always recommended to stay up on new laws, tech, and refresh or update your investigative skills.
